Abstract
Non-dialyzable peptides of very similar constitution were isolated from testing spore extracts and from germination exudates of Bacillus megatherium, B. subtilis and B. cereus. These peptides are not present in appreciable quantities in extracts from vegetative cells. The non-dialyzable spore peptides contain alpha-epsilon-diamino-pimelic acid, glutamic acid, alanine, and the acetyl derivatives of glucosamine and an unidentified sugar amine. Keywords
