Abstract
Study by means of transmission electron microscopy reveals that extended defects, dislocation and planar faults, are rather common in the crystals of lead zirconate, lead titanate and their solid solutions PZT.The defects were identified by diffraction contrast analysis and their crystallographic nature, in particular possible slip mechanism and relation to nonstoichiometry, is discussed. Keywords
