Abstract
From 1960-1969, 26 women under 25 yr old were operated on for mammary carcinoma. All 18 patients in stage 0 and I had a 5 yr cure. The corresponding rate for 7 women in stage II was 43%. Of 8 women with a poorly differentiated or anaplastic growth, 38% survived for more than 5 yr. The corresponding figure for those with a well differentiated tumor was 100%. The prognosis in young women is good, provided the malignant breast tumor is diagnosed and treated in good time, and it is better than that in elderly women.
