Abstract
The novel antibiotic negamycin containing a new hydroxyamino acid linked to N-methylhydrazinoacetic acid was described by Umezawa and coworkers. The synthesis and biological activity [Escherichia coli, Enterobacter sp., Klebsiella pneumoniae, Proteus mirabilis, Pseudomonas aeruginosa, Salmonella typhimurium, S. enteritidis, Shigella flexneri, Serratia marcescens, Herellea vaginicola, Staphylococcus aureus and Streptococcus faecalis] of the deoxy analog and its higher homolog and several compounds related to deoxynegamycin wherein the N-methylhydrazinoacetic acid moiety was replaced are here reported. This publication has 1 reference indexed in Scilit:
