Abstract
The optical arrangement for a laser Doppler velocimeter is described. A rotating radial diffraction grating has been used as beam splitter in order to shift the laser light frequency. The advantages are that a high spatial resolution can be obtained and that it allows the removal of the pedestal in the Doppler signal. It also provides a method for determining the position of the measuring volume relative to the wall of the test section. Experimental results are presented. Keywords
