Abstract
In CHOm3 cells and rat cerebral cortex slices, epi-inositol was less potent but as effective as myo-inositol in reversing carbachol/lithium-stimulated CMP-PA accumulation whereas L-chiro- and scyllo-inositol were less active or inactive. These results with the four inositol isomers in two tissues correlate exactly with their effects on lithium-pilocarpine induced seizures and suggest a common mechanism of action for biochemical and behavioural effects. Keywords
