Abstract
The effect of the competition between and electromagnetic transitions on the angular distribution of gamma rays from nuclei with high spin was studied. The angular distribution of such gamma rays was calculated as a function of their energy. This energy dependence of the angular distribution can be used to test the assumption that nuclei with high spin rotate as a whole.
