Abstract
Liver arginase hydrolysed carbamidoarginine with the production of urea and o-carbamidoornithine. The latter, hitherto unknown, was described and a new anhydride, probably 3-uramino-2-piperidone, was prepared. The action of arginase on carbamidoarginine was 165 times less than on arginine (pH optima identical). The specificity of arginase was discussed. This publication has 3 references indexed in Scilit:
