Abstract
ions having a specific energy of 1.4 MeV/u were implanted into stacks of self-supporting C, Al, Ti, Ni, Nb, Pd, and Sn foils that were produced by evaporation. The number of atoms stuck in the individual foils was determined by thermal neutron activation analysis. The mean ranges and range-straggling results are given for the energy region (0.15-10) MeV/u with the use of measured stopping-power values of uranium ions in the solids. The results are compared to the theoretical predictions and to semiempirical range tables.
