Abstract
Conditions are described for the plaque assay of myxoma virus infectivity on monolayer cultures of an established line of suckling rabbit kidney cells and primary adult rabbit kidney cells. The validity of this method is established by the demonstration of a linear dose-response relationship and by the observation of an infective particle distribution in suspension which agrees with the theoretical Poisson distribution. The specificity of the assay is confirmed by neutralization test and its sensitivity is found to be equal to that of the in vivo rabbit assay. Keywords
