Abstract
The serum gastrin in response to insulin hypoglycaemia was measured in 29 subjects by radioimmunoassay. Thirteen subjects showed a rise and 16 subjects no change in gastrin levels, although the degree of hypoglycaemia achieved in both groups was identical. This suggests either that the vagal release of gastrin is more dominant in some subjects or that there may be other factors involved which prevent the release of gastrin. Keywords
