Abstract
Mice were subjected to either of 2 forms of nonphysical stress, high intensity sound (123 decibels) or avoidance-learning in an electrically wired shuttle box apparatus. A significant decrease was observed in the ability of the stressed mice to produce foreign body granulomas against subcutaneously-implanted cotton pellets. Granulomas in stressed mice were smaller with a general inhibition of capsule formation and of cellular infiltration as compared to control mice. This publication has 7 references indexed in Scilit:
