Abstract
Magnibursatus caudofilamentosa (Reimer, 1971) Gibson & Køie, 1991 is a common hemiuroid digene-an in the buccal cavity of the stickleback Gasterosteus aculeatus L. in Denmark. Its cercaria, Cercaria caudofilamentosa Reimer, 1971, develops in daughter-sporocysts in the prosobranch Rissoa mem-branacea. The caudal cyst of the infective cercaria is provided anteriorly with a long, thin filament and opposite a posterior appendage with two shorter, sticky ribbons. When harpacticoid copepods manipulate the cercaria entangled in filamentous algae, the cercarial body is injected into the copepod haemocoel through the everted delivery tube. Three-week-old (18°C), unencysted metacercar-iae are infective to sticklebacks. Keywords
