Histoplasmosis in Wild Rats: Occurrence and Histopathology

Abstract
A pathologic study of histoplasmosis in trapped wild rats. Strains of Histoplasma capsulatum were isolated from 16 rats. The frequent occurrence of these organisms in the common brown rat may be of importance in the epidemiology of histoplasmosis in humans.
