Abstract
Prothrombin-free ox plasma was prepared by filtering oxalated plasma through a 20% asbestos filter pad. Fibrinogen was removed with 10% ether at -2[degree] C and Factor V obtained by repeated fractional iso-electric precipitation at 0[degree]C. This gives a purification of 100-150 times. The properties of Factor V indicate that it is identical with the "prothrombin A" of Quick (Amer, Jour. Physiol. 140: 212. 1943), the accelerator factor of Fantl and Nance (Nature 158: 708. 1946) and the accelerator globulin of Ware, Guest and Seegers (Science 106: 41. 1947).This publication has 7 references indexed in Scilit:
