Abstract
Since saliva after filtering contains no phosphatase and since other animal phos-phatases are not removed by such filtering, it is assumed that cell-free saliva contains no phosphatase. The phosphatase in saliva seems to come chiefly from cellular debris and to a lesser extent from microorganisms in the mouth such as Lac-tobacillus acidophilus. Keywords
