THE EFFECT OF TESTOSTERONE PROPIONATE ON THE GENITALIA, PROSTATE, SECONDARY SEX CHARACTERS, AND BODY WEIGHT IN EUNUCHOIDISM1

Abstract
4 eunuchoids received 25 mg. daily of testosterone propionate in sesame oil, subcu-taneously, from 5-7 times weekly for 28-99 days. In 3 of these, 10-25 mg. was given, thereafter, 3-7 times weekly, with interruptions, to 108-163 days. In all was noted early increase in erections; in 3, an inlargement of penis; in all inlargement of prostate; in 2, deepening of voice; in 3, increased sexual hair. Hypertrophy of breast tissue occurred in 1; testes size was unaltered in 2, but sperm disappeared for duration of treatment in 1 of these. All showed increase in body wt.; 1 showed slight increase in B.M.R.
