Abstract
Conditioned psycho-galvanic responses were established in 40 human subjects to a tone of 1967 d.v. under 2 conditions of shock-reinforcement. One group of 20 subjects was given 16 paired presentations of the tone and shock (100% reinforcement); the remaining 20 subjects were given 16 presentations of the tone, 8 of which were paired with shock in a random order (50% reinforcement). Performance at the end of acquisition (first extinction response) is equal under the 2 conditions of reinforcement. Extinction following 100% reinforcement exhibits the usual negative acceleration, that following 50% reinforcement an initial rise and less rapid decline. This publication has 2 references indexed in Scilit:
