Abstract
MgO single crystals, preimplanted with rubidium ions and subsequently annealed, contain small rubidium precipitates which have been well characterized by optical absorption measurements and transmission electron microscopy. Optical absorption measurements have shown that during the reimplantation with Rb + ions the number of precipitates decreases with the fluence : the precipitated phase has completely disappeared for a fluence of 7 x 10 14 ions. cm-2. These effects seem to be associated with an atomic collision processKeywords
