Abstract
Heterodyne photon correlation has been used to study bilayer lipid membranes. It is shown that the intensity of light scattered by thermally excited fluctuations of the membrane can be deduced from the correlation measurements. The measured intensities vary with scattering angle in good accord with theoretical expectation. In this work the reference beam used was not well controlled, unlike normal heterodyne optical detection. Keywords
