Abstract
Pion-52Cr elastic and inelastic scattering was measured for both pi + and pi - at 180 Mev. The percentage difference ((d sigma ( pi -)/d Omega )-(d sigma ( pi +)/d Omega ))/(d sigma /d Omega ) of inelastic cross sections to the 21+ state is -19+or-8%, indicating a proton deformation length ( beta R)p larger than ( beta R)n for this level. Keywords
