Abstract
The use of HPLC for qualitative determination of bufadienolides from Scilla-preparations is described. The separation systems are reversed-phase columns with methanol- or acetonitrile- water mixtures as eluents, and photometric detection at 300 nm. The method allows a fast differentiation between Scilla alba and Scilla rubra preparations and the quantitative estimation of the main glycosides, using Proscillaridin A as reference glycoside. Keywords
