Abstract
This paper investigates the stochastic behavior of a nonhomogeneous, multitype carrier-borne epidemic in which there is a spatial distribution of carriers and susceptibles, Techniques are developed for formulating a suitable model and obtaining an exact analysis for the quantities which are of interest in an epidemic. The model also allows for consideration of movement among the carrier population. Keywords
