Abstract
Zimpher describes a teacher leader pro gram that has been developed between a state university and a local school dis trict. She outlines the benefits ofteacher leadership programs and creates a schemata for teacher leader program ming. The first schematic level focuses on professional development phases for teachers. The second level provides definition for several domains of knowl edge that are critical to the preparation of teachers for leadership roles includ ing : teacher needs assessment; inter personal and adult development; class room processes and school effective ness ; instructional supervision; and in quiry.Keywords
