Abstract
For the detection of small amounts of thyrotropin 3 histological and 2 radioactive methods are available. Of these 5 methods, 4 are performed on chicks and the remaining 1 on starving tadpoles. Among the chick methods, the p32 uptake method was thought to be preferable, owing to greater simplicity and convenience. The tadpole method using the mean acinar cell height as the biological endpoint was the most sensitive, however. Keywords
