Abstract
Twenty-five spp. of Saprolegniaceae, 4 spp. of Leptomitaceae, and 2 spp. of Pythiaceae remained viable and in a bacteria-free condition for over 2 years without attention when the procedure described was followed. The method is recommended for teaching collections because of the ease with which cultures can be returned to vigorous growth.
