Abstract
Exact expressions are reported for the rotational friction coefficients of an infinite cylinder with a curtate hypocycloid cross section, for both slipping and sticking boundary conditions. Surface roughness on a molecular scale justifies use of the sticking boundary condition when the cylinder radius is larger than 500–1000 Å.Keywords
