Abstract

As two conflicting values have been given for the half-lives of both

{}^{20}{Na}

and

{}^{36}K

, we have carefully measured them with a "pneumatic-shuttle" system. We find

T_{\frac{1}{2}} = 446 \pm 8

msec for

{}^{20}{Na}

and

T_{\frac{1}{2}} = 343 \pm 28

msec for

{}^{36}K

. In addition, and as a check against systematic errors, the half-lives of

{}^{28}P

,

{}^{32}{Cl}

,

{}^{40}{Sc}

, and

{}^{64}{Ga}

were measured.
