Abstract
Two diploid and one tetraploid cell sub-lines of Chinese hamster were established from clones isolated from single cells of the V79 strain. The stability of the chromosome constitution may depend upon the karyotype of the single cell which gives rise to the isolated clones. A predominant karyotype in the stemline was found to be maintained in subsequent generations without further chromosome changes for at least a year. Keywords
