Abstract
After a decade of little change, many changes in the immunologic management of organ transplant recipients are now imminent. Basic science is revealing mechanisms and developing new reagents, and clinicians are identifying opportunities for application of this new knowledge. The interaction between the laboratory and the clinic, and the renewed interest in clinical trials, guarantee that transplantation practice will evolve rapidly in the new few years. The examples mentioned here high-light the scope of the possibilities for progress. Keywords
