Abstract
The ground 2Σg state of the Be−2 anion is predicted to be stable with respect to electron loss and dissociation, with a vertical electron detachment energy at Re=4.62 a.u. of 0.29 eV. The Be−2 potential curve is found to cross the repulsive Be2 curve near 5.8 a.u., which corresponds closely to the outer turning point of the v=3 vibration of Be−2.Keywords
