Abstract
This paper concerns the first band-structure determination of two-dimensional periodic semiconductor-dielectric photonic crystals in the presence of an applied magnetic field. We introduce an augmented-block-matrix method that allows to transform the determination of photonic band structure for H polarization into a standard eigenvalue problem. The complete polarization-dependent band gaps are reported for a filling fraction for both square and hexagonal arrangements.
