ENDOMETRIAL RESPONSE TO POLY-OESTRADIOL PHOSPHATE (P. E. P.) IN AMENORRHEIC WOMEN

Abstract
Surgically castrated women, patients with primary amenorrhea and those with secondary amenorrhea were injected with P.E.P. and showed signs of proliferative activity (observed by biopsy) in their endometrial glands. The estrogenic effect of P.E.P. was found to be more prolonged than the injections of estradiol benzoate. A dose of 20 - 40 mg P.E.P. was sufficient to produce activity similar to that found in a normal mid-proliferative phase. Higher doses caused moderate cystic glandular hyperplasia.
