Abstract
Multiquark structure functions for the proton have been formulated assuming a statistical distribution of sea partons as in the Kuti-Weisskopf model. An alternative form for the recombination function has been obtained by imposing a cutoff on the rapidity gap of combining quarks. These multiquark structure functions and the recombination function have been used, within the framework of the recombination model of Das and Hwa, to discuss single-meson inclusive distributions, in the fragmentation region of the proton, in collisions.
