On the atomic structure of the Σ = 3, {112} twin in silicon

Abstract
A new model is proposed for the {112} interface. The essential feature is that the interface region is highly symmetrical and composed of five and seven membered rings, which is contrary to some earlier predictions but consistent with observations of other grain boundaries in materials with the diamond cubic structure.Keywords
