Abstract
O2-uptake of catalase soln. is enhanced by illumination only in the presence of methylene blue(MB). This MB-sensitized photo-oxidn. causes inactivation, viscosity increment, Soret band shifting and decomposition of histidine residues in 2 stages. Catalytic activity approx. parallels the square of remaining histidine residue content. Keywords
