Abstract
We study the structure of the QCD vacuum by analyzing the chiral condensate around static quark multiplets within the framework of lattice QCD. We find a suppression of the chiral condensate around quark multiplet sources relative to the vacuum which increases with a higher multiplicity of the sources. Across the deconfinement phase transition the suppression becomes less pronounced. We further calculate the static interquark potential between color sources in higher multiplet representations. In the full theory with finite temperature all potentials become screened by sea quarks. Our results are compared with Casimir scaling laws. Keywords
