Abstract
This paper summarizes a program for screening psychopharmacological agents in the treatment of alcoholism that was presented at the 1958 Research Conference on Problems of Alcohol and Alcoholism. Illustrated are 2 forms on which data is recorded weekly by the physician and by the patient. Information covered includes parameters of medication, patients'' appearance, employment status, symptoms, complaints of mood, days and degrees of drinking, mental condition and his response to the treatment. These forms serve as IBM worksheets from which 72 items of quantitative data are keypunched. A general purpose questionnaire analysis program for the IBM-709 Computer is cited for statistical analysis of this data.Keywords
