Abstract
MODERN civilization and especially urbanization is built upon introduction of new forms and extensive use of many chemicals. All these substances serve an intended purpose for varying periods. When their usefulness is expended they may create a disposal problem. Except where recycling of chemicals is practical, disposal is likely to be by dilution in the environment either before or after physical and chemical changes.The disposal of pesticides is important because their usefulness is based on biologic activity.
