Abstract
Respiration rates of different brain regions were studied in the presence of different substrates. In the minced tissue, unlike cerebral cortex, certain regions show little or no extra O uptake in the presence of glucose or lactate; when slices of these regions were used, constant and much higher respiration rates were observed. Cerebellar cortex has a greater metabolic activity than any other part of the brain. This publication has 3 references indexed in Scilit:
