Occurrence in Gastric Juice of Antibody to a Complex of Intrinsic Factor and Vitamin B12

Abstract
ANTIBODIES to gastric parietal cells have been found by an immunofluorescent technic in the gastric juice of patients with atrophic gastritis with or without pernicious anemia.1 , 2 We have recently observed a patient with pernicious anemia who absorbed vitamin B12 poorly even in the presence of intrinsic factor. An antibody to a complex of intrinsic factor and vitamin B12 was found in the gastric juice of this patient.
