Abstract
The test used was that previously described by the authors. Sera from 3 patients in the acute phase of histoplasmosis gave a 4+ reaction. Sera from 3 patients in the chronic stage gave no significant reaction. 30.4% of sera from 197 healthy persons gave a weak reaction. 71 of these persons gave a positive skin test. Of these 71, 25 gave a weak reaction while 35 of 126 persons with a negative skin test gave a similar reaction. 32.3% of 235 sera from persons not skin-tested gave a weak reaction. The collodion agglutination test should be further investigated to determine its value as an adjunct in the diagnosis of acute histoplasmosis. Keywords
