Abstract
An initial analogical methodology for the analysis and validation of anomalous cognitive and linguistic operations in small group subliteral narrative (fantasy theme) reports is presented. Subliteral narratives (fantasy themes) are linguistic expressions that carry two or more levels of meaning, often referred to as "symbolic, " "metaphoral, " or figurative language. The methodology and cognitive-linguistic operations are instantiated with data derived from protocols transcribed from small group interactions. The significance of such anomalous findings bear on cognitive research, on story narratives, similarity relations, action ships, speech errors, analogical reasoning, isomorphic relations, structure mapping, metaphor comprehension, affective schemata, and transformation of invariance. Some implications are discussed. Keywords
