Abstract
We report specific-heat and susceptibility measurements on Se samples in the concentration range 0.5≥x≤1.0. For x≥0.85, smeared first-order antiferromagnetic transitions are observed; for x≤0.7, the system shows typical spin-glass properties. In the intermediate concentration range the phenomena characteristic for antiferromagnetic and spin-glass ordering coexist.
