Abstract
32 veal calves, of unknown age but varying in wt. between 90 and 180 lbs., were subjected to a series of subcut. injns. of gonadotrophic extracts predominantly of follicle-stimulating activity, followed by an intraven.-injn. of luteinizing extract and by artificial insemination. Moderate to extreme follicular stimulation was induced in all but one animal, but corpora lutea were formed in only 50% of the calves. 35 ova were recovered from 10 animals, but only 7 (representing 2 calves) showed evidence of fertilization. This publication has 7 references indexed in Scilit:
