$\bar{p} p$ Annihilation into $π^{+} ρ$ at Small Angles Between 1 and 2 $\frac{GeV}{c}$

Abstract

We have studied the process

\bar{p} p

into

π^{+} X^{-}

using wire spark chambers. The data cover the angular range of

{cos θ}_{\bar{p} π^{+}}^{*}

between 0.96 and 1.0 at several incident momenta between 1 and 2

\frac{GeV}{c}

. The reaction

\bar{p} p \to π^{+} ρ^{-}

was observed with

{(\frac{d σ}{d Ω})}^{*}

of the order of 100 μb/sr at several momenta.
