Abstract
Feulgen DNA cytophotometry yielded prognostically significant information about the long-term relative survival in 123 patients with bladder cancer, even if subgroups with comparable T categories were compared. Patients with diploid tumours generally had a more favourable outcome than those with non-diploid ones. The percentage of tumour DNA stemline values was an additional prognostic parameter for diploid T1 tumours. It is suggested that DNA cytometric results ought to have an influence on the treatment of patients with bladder cancer.
