Abstract
The reaction sequence involving Arbuzov rearrangement of allyl phosphites 4 to phosphonates 5 followed by Horner-Wadsworth-Emmons olefination of 5 with aldehydes gives substituted trienes and tetraenes 8 with full stereoselectivity.Keywords
