Abstract
SUMMARY: Abnormal accumulations of iron in the mitochondria of erythroblasts were observed in patients who developed mild transitory anaemia while on a course of chloramphenicol and in patients with porphyria cutanea tarda. These and similar observations in six other syndromes were the basis for a discussion of the biochemical aetiology of this increased deposition of iron. This publication has 23 references indexed in Scilit:
