Abstract
Using computer calculated entropies for various two and three dimensional crystallites, a least‐squares analysis is performed to determine the coefficients of a function which is assumed to represent the functional dependence of the entropy on crystal size and shape. With a complete determination of the coefficients, this entropy function may be applied to any shape crystallite. The features of the entropy function are discussed. In particular, the replacement entropy is found to a good approximation to be independent of crystal shape and may be described by a very simple dependence on the dimensionality of the crystal. Keywords
